Because You Called
By Kathleen Kimball-Baker
At his window two floors above,
backlit and rumpled,
he has watched her make the calls.
You can’t hear me, can you?
He watches her lips.
Can you feel this?
Moist air enters his ear.
His breath quickens.
Everything,
nothing wasted.
You let me in. Why?
Above her breasts, he traces:
“You needed me.”
True.

you are a terrific writer, please add any constructive feedback that hits you, I'm on a "growth" mission in 2010! (quality not quantity)
Too inscrutable again, I see! LOL!!
Clues:
(1) She has a second job: what is it? Hint's in the title, just above the byline.
(2) One of his 5 senses has been missing since birth. Does it matter, though? That one can't be too hard (no pun intended) to figure out. He's found a way to compensate.
Help me out, 55ers, with lines 9 and 10?
Keep it clean, though, I don't want to get booted off blogger ;^D
Kathleen
I love it - you rock! Although I really like lines 9-10, might I also recommend "A soundless moan"?
i need a cigarette and i don't even smoke!! hot 55!!
At first I thought he was peeping on her from one apartment building to another. Then I thought he was a ghost. I'm not sure I get it, but I love the way the words flow.
Oh yeah, thats HOT!
I love a steamy 55 Kathleen.
Excellent 55 My dear!

That's HOT!!!
All the good descriptors have been used - hot, sensual, hubba hubba. This is awesome. My 55 is HERE.
@MM: You are so right, and it's maddening! I'm determined to find the just right words, though.
Thanks for the visit and your words of encouragement, MM.
I'm so tempted to trying your 160, but man, that looks tough!
@Dr. John: Hey, thanks! All suggestions welcome!
@Mama Zen: Sweet! Thanks for reading and leaving a comment. Much appreciated!
@Larry: Kool, eh? Must figure out how to up the heat, then! LOL. Thanks for reading. Much appreciated!
@Brian: Yay! So glad you liked it and it set your mind wandering. I left some clues for a little more clarity! Don't mean to be completely unfathomable!
@Hootin' Anni: I tell you, those characters were yammering at me once they "arrived." There's a lot going on with those, two! LOL! Thanks for the visit.
@Fandango: Do we humans displease you?
@sarah: Thank you so much for the comment and encouragement. All new territory for me!
@Natalie: Thank you thank you thank you. Both for brainstorming with me and for you exquisite suggestion! You rock!!!
@Dianne: My goodness, you just made my day. Thank you so much! I think the Tatoo Artist is my fave, so I appreciate your comment. I'd be happy to give you feedback. Poetry is not my forte, but I can sure give you a sense of how it affects me. I love your "growth" mission idea, especially in the midst of raising 3 teens. Come to think of it, that's when I decided to try my hand at some creative writing. Must be the hormones! LOL!!
@Clean and Crazy: Ding ding ding ding ding!!! You just won the daily double! Awesome comment! Now I have the courage to write more on this score (I've got a novel in the works with a love scene that's been avoiding getting written.) I think I'll print out your comment and use it for inspiration!!!
@Alice Audrey: Interesting images that came to you. I love that the words conjured up different things. As far as I can tell (from what they've "told" me) he is deeply sensual even though he's missing a very important sense -- and he's had to "read" so much from his surroundings, he's exquisitely sensitive, and compassionate. She is, too, but she has given away a bit of her soul. They fill in each other's missing pieces. Make sense? You're helping me sort this out, you know. Thank you!
@G-Man: Aw, you are such a sweetheart. I am honored that you found it "steamy." I'm working on it! So thanks for giving us the opportunity to play, experiment, and explore. Very fun!!! You have a fabulous weekend, you handsome devil, you!
@Felicitas: w00t! Just the effect I was going for. Thanks for making my day!!!
@Susan: Hey, thanks for stopping In Linden Hills and reading my 55. Much appreciated. Love the "hubba, hubba" comment. That's what I'm talkin' about!
Fabulous! I'm so sorry I missed 55 this week. Actually had it ready, but I've been battling some long days at work and coughing crud at night! Haven't been up to blogging as much late. Come, spring!!
Beautiful and sexy!
