Try 2 - Flash Fiction

Missing?

The doberman whined as Dixie drove up.

The odor of liver frying inside assaulted her nose.

Only one other person dared cook here,

and he wasn’t welcomed after their parents’ murder.


Her brother had evaded the law for years -- till a bondsman found him wielding a butcher knife

 and grinning. “Next?”

He’d gone missing since.

A first attempt at Friday Flash 55 . . .


The Creeps

Simmons left work late so as not to be seen.
Partings always raised the hair on his neck.
He got as far as two blocks away before it happened.

Earlier, Magda cast tiny bones onto tattered black velvet.
She rarely missed a chance to spook her wretched ex.
Tonight, she sent crows with scarlet eyes.
